Who We Are
The FFA Historical & Ag Museum was founded in 1970 by
the La Porte City FFA Chapter in the city’s original fire station
and jail on Chestnut Street. The building was granted status as a
National Historic Site in 1976 and was turned over to the City of La
Porte City. The museum quickly outgrew this site and, in 2001, the
city purchased a building on Main Street which was renovated and is
now the home of the museum. The museum continues to earn it's
reputation for educational and innovative exhibits that are enjoyed
by guests of all ages. All new exhibits are installed each
spring. The museum’s outstanding collection is augmented by
generous friends of the museum who share artifacts from their
valuable private collections.
